A three-day ‘Zainul Festival’ will begin on Friday at the premises of the Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA) of Dhaka University.
The FFA will arrange the festival to mark the 103rd birth anniversary of Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin.
Cultural affairs minister Asaduzzaman Noor will inaugurate the festival while
Secretary General of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) M. Sahidul Islam and engineer Mainul Abedin will be present as special guests.
The Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Akhtaruzzaman will preside over the function.
The ceremony will begin by placing wreaths to the mausoleum of the legendary painter in the morning while the second phase of the ceremony will start from the afternoon.
The second phase will feature exhibition photography, musical event, documentary exhibition-1, Palaporn-2 of Bangladesh, Manpura-70 and performance of music and dance.
The festival will remain open from 10 am to 8pm every day till December 31. unb
