Two people, accused in a case filed over killing a woman and her daughter-in-law in Nabiganj upazila, gave confessional statement before a court here on Thursday.
The accused were identified as Md Taleb and Zakaria Ahemd Shuvo.
Earlier on Sunday night, police recovered bodies of Mala Begum, 55, mother of the expatriate Akhlak Chowdhury and his wife Rumi Begum, 22, from their house at Sadullapur village in Kurshi union of Nabiganj upazila.
Superintendent of Habiganj Police Bidhan Tripura at a press conference at his office on Thursday said the duo went to expatriate Akhlak Chowdhury’s house with a desire to violate his wife Rumi Begum.
The killers Taleb and Shuvo told the court that they attacked expatriate’s mother when she opened the door and later also hacked Rumi when she rushed there to save her mother-in-law, the police super said.
After killing the two women they fled the scene, the police super said adding that a knife used in the gruesome killing was also recovered.
Akhlak Chowdhury alias Gulzar, son of late Raja Miah, has been living at London for long.
