Trader held for ‘cheating’

Police detained a trader for reportedly cheating a cattle feed manufacturer and recovered 400 sacks of cattle feed from different parts of Bhangura and Chatmohor upazilas on Monday evening.

The arrestee was identified as Anwar Hossain, 40, son of Habibur Rahman, resident of Betuan village in Bhangura upazila.

Nazrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Bhangura Police Station, said Anwar and Abdul Khaleq, 36, son of Ismail Hossain, resident of Dedaria village in Chatmohor upazila, went into hiding after buying 400 sacks of cattle feed from ‘Narayanganj Islamia Flower Mill’ at Sharatnagar Bazar in Bhangura municipal area without paying any amount on March 29.

Later, the mill owner filed a complaint with the police station on Monday.

Police in a drive seized 100 sacks from a warehouse of Anwar Hossain in Saratnagar Bazar and arrested Anwar.

Later, the law enforcers in another drive recovered the rest 300 sacks from Khaleq’s house. However, police could not arrest Khaleq.

Later, a case was filed with the police station accusing Khaleq and Anwar.unb
