The teaser of Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Manikarnika’ was unveiled on Gandhi Jayanti and it was praised for its grandeur and Kangana’s transformation as the Queen of Rani Laxmibai. The actress looked every bit like the warrior princess.
The film has been in news for quite some time now, owing to reasons like director Krish starting another project and Kangana Ranaut stepping in to take over as the director. Later, Sonu Soodwalked out of the film and he was followed by Swati Semwal. However, the film’s team is making sure that the remaining portions of the film are shot smoothly.
Now, joining the cast of this film are television actress Radha Bhatt and Edward Sonnenblick. A report in Mumbai Mirror states that Radha will be replacing Swati Semwal whereas Edward Sonnenblick will be playing a negative character in the film. Confirming that she is part of the film, Radha told Mirror, “Yes, I have joined the cast of ‘Manikarnika’ and I feel lucky to be selected for the part. I was scared to shoot with Kangana but she is a lovely person. I had scenes with her and Zeeshan, who is an amazing actor too.”
Radha also shared how Kangana was very supportive and made things easier for her as she had joined the cast on short notice.
The report further states that the scenes involving Radha and Zeeshan Ayyub have been directed by Kangana. Zeeshan has replaced Sonu Sood, and will be playing Sadashivrao while Radha will be playing his wife in the film. Edward Sonnenblick was previously seen in films like ‘Rangoon’ and ‘Firangi’.
‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ is all set to hit the silver screens on January 25, 2019.
