State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid has said the Power Division has been consistent to be ahead of all ministries and divisions in implementing the annual development programme (ADP)
He made the remarks while inaugurating the newly reconstructed building of Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) in the city.
Nasrul also mentioned that the Power Division has also come first in implementing the annual performance agreement (APA) in 2018-19 fiscal year.
“The Power Division had been first in the previous fiscal year in implementing the APA as well while the Energy Division became third,” he added.
The state minister urged reporters to present the country’s development news with responsibility and sincerity.
The function, with DRU President Elias Hossain in the chair, was also addressed by State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Jatiya Press Club President Saiful Islam, Secretary General of a faction of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) Shaban Mahmud and DRU General Secretary Kabir Ahmed Khan.
The DRU building was reconstructed and decorated with the financial support of the Hamid Foundation, a social welfare organisation of the Nasrul Hamid’s family.
Palak assured reporters of helping set up a digital library at the DRU.
