Nasir’s 270* spurs Rangpur lead of 235 against Barisal Ariful hit century of 162

Rangpur Division skipper Nasir Hossain hit unbeaten 270 runs for a 235-run lead 1st innings against Barisal Division after the 3rd day’s play in the 6th and last round match of the four-day Walton 1oT Smart Fridge 19th National Cricket League (NCL) at  Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chittagong on Friday.

Replying to Barisal Division 1st Innings of 335/10 in 93.5 overs, Rangpur division resumed their 1st innings on the 3rd day with overnight score of 264/4 in 76 overs and raised their tally to a mammoth 570/5 in 166 overs, at stumps, riding on the 5th wicket partnership of 368 off 105.1 overs shared by centurions Nasir and Ariful Haque.

Nasir played an inning of 467 balls to fire 29 boundaries and three over boundaries and was at the crease when the bails were drawn for the day.

Ariful stayed for 162 off 290 balls, including 10 boundaries and two boundaries, while Dhiman Ghosh came at the crease after the dismissal of Ariful, was caught by Mosaddek Hossain off Kamrul Islam Rabbi on 553/5 in 160.2 overs, and was on unbeaten with 5* runs in the 6th pair.

Monir Hossain captured three wickets for 151 runs in 42 overs while Salman and Rabbi got one wickets conceding 39 and 104 runs respectively in the innings.
