Siddikur Rahman teed off in the $3 million Maybank Championship on Thursday and shared 72nd spot after the 1st round at Saujana Golf and Country Club, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.
The 33-year-old Bangladesh’s celebrity golfer Siddikur carded one-under-par 71, six shots back of the clubhouse leader England’s Chris Paisley, to share the 72nd place with 22 other golfers.
Siddikur birdied five against two bogies and one double bogey in the first round. He teed off well with a birdie for the 1st putt and traded even par in the next four holes before another birdie in the 6th, but found himself for a dismal bogey in 7th hole and then bounced back with two successive birdies to end the first9, taking three shots less than stipulated pars 36.
A double bogey in the 10th putt and another bogey in the 15th he sucked his aggregation, which recovered with another birdie in the 176th, ending the second session with two-over-par 38.
However, in the previous edition of this event at the same venue, Siddikur finished joint 41st, aggregating four-under-par 284, stayed 15 shots behind the champion Fabrizio Zanotti (Paraguay).unb
