A man died at Faridpur Upazila Health Complex on Sunday due to alleged medical negligence.
Sujon Sikdar, 35, son of Rahman Sikdar of Kewra village in Boalmari upazila was admitted to the hospital complaining of diarrhoea around 9:30am on Saturday.
Later on the next day morning he died at 8:30 am.
Deceased’s relatives alleged that no on-duty doctors or nurses were available when Sujon fell sick in the morning.
At one stage, agitated relatives besieged the on-duty doctor in the nurse’s room demanding action against him.
Later police rushed to the spot and controlled the situation.
On-duty doctor of the hospital Dr Mohammad Marnus denied the allegation.
Upazila Health officer Dr Tapas Biswash said normally patients don’t die of diarrhoea, Sujon might have been suffering from any other problem which can be cleared after autopsy.
Meanwhile, officer-in-charge of Boalmari Police Station Md Mizanur Rahman said Sujon died normally so the body was handed over to his family members without autopsy.unb
