Korean Fair held at IUB

Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) hosted a Korean Fair at the university gallery on Tuesday to celebrate intercultural diversity, said an IUB press release.

The event’s attractions, activities and merchandise were representations of Korean culture and included interactive games, live K-Pop music and dance performances, authentic Korean cuisine, Korean skincare, hair care and makeup merchandise and a photo-booth.

The event was organized by the K-Club which is under the Department of Media and Communications.

IUB Vice Chancellor Prof. M. Omar Rahman and Cultural Attaché of Embassy of the Republic of Korea, Min-jeong Cho, attended the inaugural ceremony as chief and special guests respectively. IUB’s Dean of the School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Dr. Mahbub Alam, Head of Media and Communications Department, Dr. Zakir Hossain Raju, and Coordinator of K-Club, Raiyana Rahman, were also present there.

In his speech Prof. M. Omar Rahman said, “This initiative gave us the opportunity to learn about Korean culture and its diversity in a better manner. It’s a great experience for our students.”unb
