Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Saturday said BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will get medical treatment as per the existing jail code and medical board’s advice.
“She (Khaleda) is undergoing treatment as per the decision of medical authorities, and the government has nothing to do with it,” he said while talking to reporters at his hometown Companyganj.
Quader, also the Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said Khaleda Zia has got a personal housemaid and doctors even in the jail which is a rare opportunity.
Reiterating that the upcoming national election will be held according to the constitution, the minister said BNP is not going to be forced to take part in the election. “It’s all up to them whether they’ll join the polls or not.”
