Three militants were killed early Thursday when army foiled an attack on the battalion headquarters of 30 Rashtriya Rifles in North Kashmir’s Langate area.

Army said that militants opened fire on the sentry posts of the RR camp in Langate at two places.

The militants then tried to flee, however army and Special Operation Group of Police chased them and engaged in an encounter. The search operation is still in progress. “Three militants have been killed and three AK rifles were recovered from the militants,’’ Defense spokesman said.
