Abu Bakr Abu, vice-president of Jashore district BNP, whose body was found in Buriganga river on Thursday was laid to rest at his family graveyard in Bagdah village of Keshabpur upazila on Friday.
The BNP leader, also the chairman of Majidpur Union Council, was reportedly abducted from Dhaka when he went there to collect BNP nomination form to contest the upcoming general election from Jashore-6 constituency with the party ticket.
He was buried after two namaj-e-janajas held at Public Maidan in the upazila headquarters and at Bagdah Masrassah ground in the afternoon.
People from all walks of life including leaders and activists of the party along with local leaders of Awami League attended his janaja. unb
