Begum Gulchemonara Trust University (BGCTU) notched up a huge 104 runs victory against Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) in the Dakhina Inter-University T20 Cricket match at Chattogram Divisional Women’s Complex Ground on Tuesday.
Sent in to bat first, BGCTU scored 193 for 3 in 20 overs spurred with man of the match Ochiur Rahman’s (87* off 50b; 9×4; 5×6) and opener Tara Chandra Das’s (61 0ff 44b; 6×4; 3×6) half centuries.
Ochiur shared the 2nd wicket partnership of 65 off 7.4 overs with Tara Chandra who shared in another partnership innings of 54 off 5.2 overs with Wahidul Alam (13 off 12b; 2×4) in the opening stand. Najum Uddin( 16 off 10b; 1×4; 1×6) was another double digit scorer for the side.
Kazi Kamrul is receiving man of the match trophy from Port City International University Sports Coordinator Ahmed Harun at at Chattogram Divisional Women’s Complex Ground on April 17.
Nuruzzaman (2/41) and Ashfaq Tanzim (1/27) were the wickets getters for the losing side.
Chasing their target, CUET ended on 92/10 in 18.4 overs with Ashfaq Tanzim (39 off 37b; 5×4; 2×6) top-scored for the side.
Ochiur Rahman (2/4), Mainul Islam (2/5), Najim Uddin (2/15), Morshed Karim (2/16) equally shared eight wickets for the winning team.
In another match at the same venue, Southern University (SU) managed a 24-run win in DL game against beat Port City International University (PCIU).
Batting first after winning the toss, SU scored 200 for 5 in 20 overs where Sudipto Dey (59* off 29b; 5×4) hammered a half century and Ashraf Hossain (44 off 21b; 4×4; 3×6) was another big hitters for the side.
Raju (2/21) and Rakibur Rayhan (2/48) shared four wickets for the losing team.
Opening the innings, PCIU scored 52/2 in 7.2 overs before the rain halted the game with opener Alamgir (18* off 20b; 2×4) and Towhidul Haq (14* off 13b; 1×6) were at the crease in the 3rd stand.
