A brilliant hat-trick by Costa Rica forward Daniel Colindres guided newcomers Bashundhara Kings to the semifinals of the season’s curtain-raiser soccer meet, Walton Federation Cup Football, eliminating Team BJMC by 5-1 goals in the 4th and last quarterfinal at the floodlit Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Sunday.
Big-budgeted and national star-studded Bashundhara Kings will play Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra in the 2nd semifinal on November 20 at 5 pm while defending champions Dhaka Abahani Limited will face Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club in the first semifinal on November 19, also at 5pm , both at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
Daniel Colindres of Costa Rica which played the Russia World Cup made the 2nd hat-trick of the tournament scoring three goals within first 15 minutes. He put the Kings ahead in the very 2nd minute (1-0), doubled the margin in the 9th minute (2-0) and completed the hat-trick in the 15th minute (3-0) taking his side to a comfortable lead in the early of the game.
Uzbek player Otabek made the first hat-trick of the tournament scoring three goals against Brothers Union Club.
National coloured striker Towhidul Alam Sabuz and Motin Miah scored two more goals for the Kings in the 70th and 79th minutes respectively.
Apart from Colindres’ eye-catching performance in the match, Ibrahim also displayed a brilliant showing helping his mate to score three goals.
When the match was proceeding towards a clean sweep of 5-0 victory, Nigerian booter Samson netted the consolation goal for Team BJMC in the 87th minute (5-1).
