Exhibition of ‘Leaders of renaissance who enlighten us’ to end Thursday

A special kind of portrait exhibition on famous personalities of the Indian subcontinent and world titled ‘Leaders of renaissance who enlighten us’ will end on Thursday.

The seven-day long 5th solo painting exhibition of Bipad Bhanjan Sen Karmakar was organised with the support of the Bangladesh Shilapakala Academy in the gallery 6.

The exhibition will provide an opportunity for viewing the famous leaders who enlighten politics, education, science, and culture in the frame.

A total of 166 portraits have been put on display in the exhibition.

He joined the then Dhaka Art College in 1970 after the S.S.C exam in 1968 while he stayed in a hostel with Mohammed Kibria and Samarjit Roy Chowdhury who inspired a lot. He studied commercial art under Aminul Islam, Qayyum Chowdhury, Samarjit Roy Chowdhury, Mahmudul Haque, as well as Mohammad Kibria. He learnt lithograph under Safiuddin Ahmed.

He later joined ‘Dainik Sangbad’ where he made the illustration. He also worked at ‘Purbo Desh’. Again, he worked as the Chief Designer for 18 years of Eastern Regal Industries and Jamuna Group, and also he worked at an advertising firm.

His first solo exhibition ‘People of my country’ was held in 2009 while his first participation in the exhibition was an annual exhibition arranged by the College of Arts and Crafts in 1972-73 and awarded with ‘Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin’

The exhibition will remain open 11 am to 8 pm on the last day.unb
