Former MP and Awami League National Committee member Aman Ullah Khan passed away at a local hospital on Thursday. He was 82.
Aman, also a journalist, Liberation War organiser and close aide to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, breathed his last at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital around 10:45am.
He was admitted to the hospital on Monday after suffering stroke, said family sources.
Aman, former president of Bogra Press Club, left behind wife, two sons, three daughters and a host of relatives to mourn his death.
His first namaz-e-janaza was held at Altafunnessa playground after Asr prayers while the second one on the Baitur Rahman Central Mosque premises near the press club after Maghrib prayers.
He will be buried at his family graveyard at Joyla village in Sherpur upazila following two more janazas on Friday.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock at the death of Awami League leader.
In a condolence message, she said Awami League has lost an efficient organiser and dedicated politician at his death.
She prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.unb
