Drug smugglers, militants won’t be spared: BGB

Officials of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), at a programme, said those who are involved with drug smuggling and militant activities will not be spared.

“No Bangladeshi people will be allowed to go to India to bring the cattle and goats. Indian cows, goats must be brought to Bangladesh by Indian national,” said senior officials of BGB at a rally held against drug, smuggling and militant activities at Goga-Agrawulot madrasa ground in Sharsha upazila on Wednesday night.

BGB also said if any innocent person faces any kind of harassment by BGB members, strict action will be taken against those involved.

With Lt Col Tariqul Hakim, commanding officer of BGB Khulna-21 Battalion, in the chair, the rally was also spoken by Col Oihidur Rahman, acting commander of south western region of BGB, Jessore Additional Deputy Commissioner Mosharraf Hossain, Additional Superintendent of Police Golam Rabbani Sheikh, Sharsha Upazila Nirbahi Officer Pulok Kumar Mondal, Sharsha Upazila Chairman Sirajul Haque Manju, Inspector of Narcotics Control Mosharraf Hossain, Benapole Press Club President Mohsin Milon, Sharsha Police Station OC Tasim Ahmed.
