Chittagong Development Authority (CDA) on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Army to resolve the water logging, one of the major problem of the port city at Radisson Blu Hotel in the city.
The MoU was signed between lieutenant colonel Shahriar Ahmed, Deputy Director of Army 38 engineering construction brigade and acting engineer Hasan Bin Shams of CDA.
CDA chairman Abdus Salam after signing the MoU, said “The dwellers of Chattogam have been fearing that whether the problem of water logging will be solved or not, now with this MoU signing there will be no more such fear. The fresh project has been taken keeping the ‘Drainage Master plan 2016’ of WASA in mind.”
He sought cooperation of Chattogram City Corporation and its mayor AZM Nasir Uddin, to implement the water logging resilience project.
Nasir Uddin said “We have to get rid of the habit of disposing waste in canals and drains. The outcome of the project will come after its implementation, so we should keep our patience.”
Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Noufel, Organisaing Secretary, Bangladesh Awami League was also present there.
Earlier on August 9, ECNEC approved the Tk 616 crore project to resolve the water logging in the port city.unb
