Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Kazi M Aminul Islam has urged the European Union (EU) to continue to be with Bangladesh in its development endeavour and briefed about recent development of Bangladesh.
He also urged the EU to review its rating for Bangladesh as destination for doing business and mentioned that Bangladesh has been stable for the last couples of decades and with steady growth which is not reflected on the rating.
The BIDA Executive Chairman raised the issue when a Bangladesh delegation, led by him, met the EU delegation at the EU headquarters in Brussels recently, said a press release on Sunday.
Head of Unit responsible for trade relations with South and South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand, Directorate General (DG) for Trade, European Commission Peter Berz led the EU side.
Bangladesh Ambassador to Brussels and Permanent Representative to the EU Shahdat Hossain and Dutch-Bangla Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DBCCI) President Faruque Hassan were also present. unb
