A delegation of the ruling party Awami League visited Nasirnagar upazila of Brahmanbaria following the attack on Hindu temples, houses over a Facebook post.
The delegation led by AL Organizing Secretary Enamul Haq Shamim reached there around 11:30am.
They were talking to the victims and locals over the incident.
Miscreants in Brahmanbaria vandalised and looted at least 10 Hindu temples in Nasirnagar Upazila on Sunday afternoon.
Hundreds of houses of the Hindu community were also ransacked in the area.
Nasirnagar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Chowdhury Muazzam Ahmed told reporters that miscreants started attacking the houses in the Hindu community at around 1:30pm following a Facebook post that was given a few days back.
Protesting the Facebook post, a group of people staged two separate demonstrations at the upazila headquarters during the Diwali festivities.
Meanwhile, police claimed to have identified several attackers who vandalized temples and houses of the minority community in Brahmanbaria and two cases were filed regarding the incident.
According to Abdul Karim, assistant superintendent of Brahmanbaria police (sadar circle), around 500 unidentified people were charged in the cases on Monday.
SO far, 15 people have been detained so far in connection to the incident and several identified so far, said police.
Six of the detainees were held from the spot during the attack.
