Bangladesh Unified Football team leave for Chicago Monday

A 21-member Bangladesh Unified Football team will leave here for the United States of America by a Bangladesh Biman flight on Monday to compete in the “Special Olympics Unified Cup Football” to be held in Chicago city on July 17-21.

Sixteen men’s teams, including Bangladesh and eight women’s teams, will compete in the meet, to be arranged on the occasion of the 50th founding anniversary of the Special Olympics, established in Chicago in 1968 for the intellectually challenged people.

State Minister for Youth and Sports Dr Biren Sikder will also accompany the Bangladesh team as an invited guest of the organisers.

Members of Bangladesh team are: Sajib Biswas, Mizanur Rahman, Hasib Rana Hamim, Kawser Alam Ikram, Masudur Rahman, Ripon Miah, Rezwanul Haque, Zihadul Islam and Shariful Islam (players), Mahmudul Hasan Kiron, Mohammad Jewel, Swapon Kumar Das, Rahmat Miah, Sohanur Rahman, Arafat Miah, Shamim Hossain (unified partners), Shawkatur  Rahman (Manager), Paritosh Dewan (Head Coach), Shamim Ahmed (Coach) and  M Hafizur Rahman (Physio).unb
