Thai Deputy Prime and Minister-in-Charge of Thai Digital Economy and Sociality Ministry, ACM Prajin Juntong said this during a bilateral meeting with Bangladesh’s State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak during the latter’s two- day visit to Thailand on October 4-5.
The ICT State Minister brief the Thai DPM on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s Vision 2021 and Digital Bangladesh development doctrines for building a knowledge-based digitally enabled society, said a press release.
The Bangladesh minister and Thai deputy prime minister discussed a Framework Cooperation MOU in the ICT and Telecom sectors with Bangladesh for knowledge sharing, technical cooperation, training, bilateral investments, women in IT and sharing of best policy practices including on cyber security and BPOs.
Palak invited Thai FDI in the IT sector in Bangladesh including offering a dedicated High Tech Park for Thailand’s IT investors.
The Bangladesh ICT Minster congratulated the Thai DPM for transforming the erstwhile Thai IVCT Ministry into the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society and invited him to the Digital World Conference in Dhaka scheduled on October 19.
Ambassador of Bangladesh to Thailand Saida Muna Tasneem and Additional Secretary of the ICT Ministry Banamali Bhoumik were present at the Meeting.
