The government will take steps to gradually boost the country’s milk production to meet the local nutrition demand.
LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Khandker Mosharraf Hossain revealed it while addressing a meeting at the conference room of Rural Development and Cooperatives Division on setting up a ‘Milk Vita’ factory in Faridpur.
As part of the plan, he said, the activities of the state-run cooperative dairy ‘Milk Vita’ will be modernised first, and then milk production activities will be strengthened across the country.
The minister said the government will provide the framers with incentives through cooperatives in the areas where milk production is possible to boost the milk production.
Rural Development and Cooperatives Division secretary SM Golam Faruque, Milk Vita Chairman Sheikh Nadir Hossain Lipu and Milk Vita Managing Director M Atahar Ali were, among others, present.
