As part of the Corruption Prevention Week, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) will arrange a human chain in the city on Wednesday against corruption.
ACC officials, employees and panel lawyers, members of civil society and Anti-Corruption Committee will join the human chain programme to be held in front of the Jatiya Press Club.
ACC Chairman Iqbal Mahmood will preside over the human chain.
The ACC is observing the Corruption Prevention Week beginning on Monday with the theme: ‘If corruption can be stopped, there will be speed in development’.
The ACC will also hand over the ‘ACC Media Award 2017’ to journalists at the conference room of the ACC on Wednesday where State Minister for Finance MA Mannan will be the chief guest.
On the fourth day on Thursday, it will also honour members of zila-upazila corruption prevention committees at Jatiya Natyashala of Shilpakala Academy while Finance Minister AMA Muhith will attend the event as the chief guest.
On March 31, a grand rally with the participation of the members of ACC-run ‘Satata Sangha’ will be held at the Osmani Memorial auditorium where the ACC chairman will conduct an oath-taking session for the young generation.
The week will end on April 1 with a seminar titled ‘Accountable administration works as the key to ensuring graft-free society’ Vice-chancellor of Asia Pacific University Dr Jamilur Reza Choudhury will be present as the chief guest.
