Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Thursday filed a case against four people, including two officials of Bangladesh Sugar and Food Industries Corporation (BSFIC).
The accused were identified as Ahsan Siddique, 59, chief engineer of BSFIC, Madhab Chandra Mandal, 52, former managing director of Kushtia Sugar Mill, Abul Kashem, 53, and Dilip Chandra Saha, 48, owners of Modern Steel Engineering.
According to the case statement, the four jointly amassed a large amount of government money by misusing power.
ACC deputy director of Kusthia district unit Lutfur Rahman said the state-owned sugar mills are on the verge of destruction while many raise allegations of corruption.
An intensive investigation will be operated in this case, he said.unb
